Indicative Extraction Rates
The Flettner TCX-GE is an assembly which uses the patented TCX-2™ ventilator. As a result the performance data below lists that of the TCX-2™.
The following table shows indicative extraction rates for the Flettner TCX-2™ ventilator. It should be stressed that air extraction rates vary according to the positioning of the ventilator and the configuration of the vehicle or building to which the ventilator is fitted.
|Wind Speed||Air Extraction Rate|
|MPH||KM/h||cu ft / min||cu m / min|
Source: MIRA Ltd
The extraction rates above were measured in a wind tunnel by MIRA Ltd using a Flettner TCX-2™ ventilator fitted to the roof of a Ford Transit van. The figures are provided purely for illustrative purposes as the extraction rates achieved are dependent upon the precise configuration of each application.
It is the responsibility of the fitter and the customer to establish the amount of air extraction that is required for each application, and to ensure that the positioning and the number of ventilators fitted are suitable.
The performance of the Flettner TCX-2™ will be impaired if it is fitted to a sealed vehicle compartment or to a building with no independent air inlet. In such circumstances an air inlet such as a grille should be fitted in addition to the Flettner TCX-2™ in order to provide an adequate path for air extraction to occur.
The Flettner TCX-GE should not be used in temperatures that exceed 200°F (95°C).
